My research is focused on retrieving dynamical information in molecules on ultra-short time scales. The spectra of High harmonic generation (HHG) in small diatomic and triatomic molecules can be extracted using the Time-Dependant Schrodinger Equation (TDSE) that is implemented in low dimensional models. From this, we get access into nuclear and electronic dynamics as well as internal transitions since the TDSE provides a full description of the continuum states.
I am interested in how nuclear dynamics modulates the intensity of the HHG spectra, as well as the comparison of nuclear dynamics between isotopes of a molecule by unpacking the nuclear dynamical information encoded in the HHG signals.
In the future I will be making use of quantum chemistry packages to simulate electron and nuclear dynamics in larger molecules irradiated by strong laser fields. I will be particularly focussing on an attosecond description of the molecular dynamics during the fragmentation process in RNA bases.
